Valerin is proud to announce the addition of Carlos Garcia. Carlos’ professional experience includes providing public relations, community outreach, Spanish translations and project management support for transportation and public infrastructure projects in south Florida. Most recently, he worked as a consultant for the Florida Power and Light Storm-Secure Underground Pilot Program providing communications and outreach, data management and planning support for construction projects. During his career, Carlos has also served as a community outreach specialist providing public involvement support for planning and design projects for FDOT Districts Four and Six. Carlos is a graduate of Miami-Dade College and obtained his master’s in management from St. Thomas University.
Valerin is proud to announce the addition of Sean McCarty to the team. Sean joins Valerin after spending almost a decade in the hospitality industry where he held multiple management positions with a focus on customer service. His attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with customers and clients will be invaluable in his role of community outreach specialist. Sean is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
Valerin welcomes the newest member to the team, Eric Trull. Based out of Orlando, Eric is an experienced marketing and outreach professional with nearly a decade of experience including project management, public speaking, outreach, and engagement, specializing in digital communications. Working in mobility and municipal program operations, he was one of the first in the country to launch and operate large scale smart-mobility systems that have since led to the shared transportation revolution seen in cities across the globe. His work has been recognized in the past, including accolades such as the Transportation Professional of the Year and Bike Advocate of the Year, awarded by the Tampa Bay Institute of Transportation Engineers and Bike/Walk Tampa, respectively. Eric is a graduate of the University of South Florida (USF) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
Valerin’s President, Valerie Ciudad-Real, attended the 37th Annual Planning & Design Awards banquet on October 29th. Valerin provided public involvement services as part of the KCA team for the City of Tampa’s Green Spine Cycle Track design project that was selected to receive the Award of Excellence by The Hillsborough County Planning Commission.
Valerin is excited to announce the addition of Nicole Hawker. Nicole is a seasoned communications professional with more than 18 years of experience in the areas of strategic communications, crisis management and public affairs. Her expertise in community outreach and public engagement spans several industries including water resources, transportation, utilities, infrastructure and real estate development. She has worked with engineering and construction firms, as well as government agencies on projects throughout the state of Florida, guiding strategic public outreach efforts during feasibility studies, siting, permitting and construction. Currently, Nicole serves on the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Tampa Alumni Marketing Committee and is a volunteer swim coach with Tampa Elite Aquatics.
Valerin is pleased to announce the newest member of the Valerin Team. Emma Long joins Valerin as a GIS and communications specialist providing public involvement, community outreach and technical support for a variety of transportation and public utility projects and initiatives. Prior to joining Valerin , Emma worked as a subconsultant for FDOT District Seven where she assisted in organizing historic and current drainage documentation through ArcGIS and other GIS applications. During college, she also held internships with several engineering firms providing public involvement support. Emma is a graduate of the University of South Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a minor in Criminology.
Valerin welcomes the addition of Justina Hicklyn to our south Florida team. As a public engagement, marketing and community outreach professional, Justina has served as a communications manager for a variety of public utilities and transportation projects for clients including municipalities, counties and state agencies. Justina’s professional experience includes marketing, communications and social media planning; copy and website content development; and event coordination. She also served as an operations/community outreach volunteer for the Florida House of Representatives, District 84, working with the State Representative, Legislative Aide and Legislative Secretary. Justina is a graduate of Morgan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.
Valerin is excited to announce the addition of Erin Kleinfelt to the Valerin team. As a public relations, marketing and public affairs professional she has served as a public relations manager for construction and engineering firms and has been responsible for leading the development and implementation of marketing strategies. Erin has also been involved with marketing and public relations programming, copy and creative content development, graphic design and public speaking. She is experienced with crisis communications and public affairs, having spent time as a public information officer representing the American Red Cross. Erin is a graduate of the University of Florida with her degree in Public Relations.
Valerin welcomes Kenny Gil to our creative services team. As a talented multimedia specialist, Kenny brings both creative and technical expertise to support our clients’ marketing and communication needs. Kenny’s role will include developing and designing websites, developing mobile apps, video and audio production, and graphic design. Kenny is based out of Valerin’s headquarters in Tampa. The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority (TBARTA) Board recently approved the award of a General Services Consultant (GSC) contract to Valerin. The Valerin team is looking forward to providing marketing, outreach, advertising and public relations services under this three-year contract.
